The NoStress Group (Palm Beach, LobSTAR and Good Food Lab) invests in human capital in Cape Verde: 40-hour contracts, a 25% attendance bonus, and new measures to protect workers and tips

In a rapidly evolving global and local socio-economic context, we are announcing a series of innovative and structural measures aimed at making concrete improvements to working conditions and corporate well-being for our employees operating in Cape Verde.
The initiative was created with the primary objective of putting the person at the center of the business, recognizing worker well-being as the key factor for service quality and sustainable growth across the island's entire tourism and food sector.
1
Work-Life Balance:
40 hours per week and 2 days off

For the same salary, we have chosen to reduce weekly working hours from 44 to 40 hours. This measure allows you to enjoy two full days of rest per week, giving you more time to dedicate to family life, personal passions, and physical and mental recovery, without any financial or salary penalty. In fact: the same salary with fewer hours means a +10% increase in your hourly pay.

2
Rewarding Merit:
+25% Attendance Bonus

To reward continuity, commitment, and professionalism, we are introducing a direct financial incentive: if you meet the monthly target hours (40 hours per week with no absences), you will receive an extra monthly bonus equal to 25% of your gross salary. This is a significant increase that directly boosts your purchasing power.
For example:

if your
base pay is
with the bonus at the end
of the month
50,000 CVE +12,500 CVE 62,500 CVE
80,000 CVE +20,000 CVE 100,000 CVE

3
Protecting Supplementary Income:
Cash-Only Policy against declining tips

The widespread adoption of digital and credit card payments in recent years has led to a sharp decrease in tips handed directly to floor and kitchen staff — a historical and vital component of remuneration in the hospitality sector.
To address this issue, starting from October 2026, the group's venues will adopt a cash-only payment policy as a priority. This strategic choice aims to incentivize and preserve direct tip flow, guaranteeing you significantly higher total monthly income.

4
Corporate Welfare: The Finishing Touch

In addition, corporate welfare was recently introduced: in July, we signed an agreement with Banco Interatlantico. The deal guarantees you exceptional conditions: management fees significantly lower than average, alongside simplified access to personal and consumer loans with highly favorable rates.

In line with Cape Verdean Government directives and the local socio-economic reality

The NoStress group's initiative is part of a deep commitment to the country's social and economic stability, responding directly to the policies promoted by Cape Verdean institutions and the challenges of the labor market:
1
Adapting to the cost of living on the island of Sal

Recent studies conducted by ADECO (Associação para a Defesa do Consumidor) show that in Sal — the country's main tourism hub — the cost of the essential consumption basket (Índice de Consumo Essencial - ICE) significantly exceeds the national minimum wage. The effective increase in your remuneration (+25% attendance bonus) and the protection of tips allow you to rise above the subsistence threshold and cope with rising rent and food costs.

2
Supporting government wage policies and social dialogue

The Government of Cape Verde, through social concertation, has set a path toward progressively increasing wage protections, establishing committees for even more ambitious future achievements. We have decided to anticipate and exceed these target benchmarks, placing your average salaries and working hours well above the legal minimum standards set by the Labor Code (Código do Trabalho - Decreto Legislativo n.º 5/2007).

3
Countering emigration and enhancing local talent

One of the Cape Verdean executive's strategic priorities is containing the exodus of young people and qualified labor abroad. By reducing weekly hours from 44 to 40 hours (compared to a national standard of 44 hours) and offering 2 guaranteed days of rest alongside the +25% bonus, we offer competitive and attractive working conditions locally, fostering family stability and your professional growth in Cape Verde.

«More resources and peace of mind for employees mean greater motivation and a positive working environment.
A contented staff delivers excellent service, which translates into happy customers, glowing reviews, and increased business volume.
This virtuous cycle allows us to continuously reinvest in our team.»

With this plan, NoStress reaffirms its vision: work to live better and earn more.
